Let's build our business together
Yes, Paia is the town with all the hippies, and lots of "organic" stores. It has a great climate too, with a little more rain than Pukalani, but really not a whole lot. There will be centipedes in Paia, but you really have to look for them. They tend to hang out under piles of old lumber, or under dead vegetation. You don't see them inside the homes very often. Try to keep all plants (especially bananas) and junk away from the house. They can sting and it hurts, but it won't kill you unless you are extremely allergic. I have never been stung by one yet (knock on wood), but I know plenty of people that have... it's similar to a wasp sting, but a little stronger.

We have No Fault auto insurance here... doesn't everyone? It just means that if you get in an accident, it doesn't matter whose fault it is, the insurance will cover it. You probably don't want to hear my thoughts on the insurance industry.
Fun.. what's that? lol We are real homebodies, so for us it's fun to stay home, and visit with friends! We get a lot of visitors during the winter months , and we'll do touristy things with them when they come. When we feel the need to go somewhere, we'll go to movies, go to the Maui Arts and Cultural Center for live music, go to the beach (there are many to choose from), go for a hike in the country. We do some traveling interisland, or to the mainland.

Churches - there are many churches here on Maui, and many different kinds. It sounds like a good idea for a post or 2. Let me work on that! When the missionaries came here they brought their little New England church building techniques with them. The Hawaiian people were very spiritual and they embraced the new religion. You will see some very cute churches here, as well as more traditional types, and comtemporary ones too. You can even attend services in the Hawaiian language if you want. What flavor do you prefer?
I hope that helps to answer your questions..... got any more?
