Real Estate World

Let's build our business together

Yesterday, I had to download Live Writer. I like that to post my WP 2.3 blogs to. Last week when I was having all my computer problems, my tech guy deleted it.

So I was in a hurry and didn't click WP2.2+ but just Wordpress.

I wrote a post on Ann Arbor Real Estate Talk. But, it wouldn't accept it, it showed it was there in the management side but not on the site.Funny, thing is it was picked up by Google Alerts 4 times. But, when you click it is NOT there. After working on it for 6 hours, Brad Carroll told me to check my path.

It dawned on my what I had done.

Problem is: When I went in to add another weblog, which you can do because it is the same URL, it is flipping me over to the other settings and path and NOT accepting the post.

I have delected live writer, all the files, everything hidden, but when I re-download it again, all the information is stored with microsoft and I can't change the settings.

I went in and read the privacy statement and it says something like for 120 days they will store that email address before releasing it.

Does anyone know what to do?

Obviously, I have written support at both Microsoft and Live-Writer with the problem.

If you don't know what to do, can you recommend a plug in for WP, I hate loading pictures there. I can upload them but can't move them around.

See, that is exactly my problem, I HATE it.
That's why I like livewriter it is the same formating as AR, easy.

Regarding moving photos around on WP, I'm not sure how the dot-org version works, but that was one of my first complaints with the dot-com version.

I'm used to it now, so here's what I do:
It always loads the photo at the top left. I record the px size when I upload. Then when I edit the photo for border, size, etc. I put in the size I want it to be. The I "cut" it and paste it where I want it to go. I can't drag & drop.

Word wrap is another problem I have, especially if I want the photo on the right side. Then I usually have to adjust it with the horizontal & vertical margins and/or put it in the 'middle' position.

Yea, I emailed both Jay's. I did post it in the WP group. Cyndee Hayden sent me an email and said she uses blogjet. So I downloaded that and it worked on the test post.

Did you post it to the WP group?

Mark doesn't participate much on AR anymore, but I've heard others say he is great.

I think when Jay was having his problems, I seem to recall the Thompson's in AZ may have given some tips as well, but I could be wrong.

I just posted in more detail on AR and emailed Jay. I don't know Mark well enough to ask him. But, hopefully someone will know. Thanks

Missy, you might check with Mark Flanders or Jay McGuillicudy. Mark is the WP expert I'm told. And Jay & Monica had some difficulties when they switched over to 2.3.

There are things I would like to do but can't with my dot-com WP, but people have such problems with the dot-org version, that for the time being I'm sitting still with the free version.
