Around 13 minutes into the video, is what got my attention! :-)
When he started talking about live "webcasting" of a property to give a remote buyer a view.

Here in Dubai, we are trying to break new ground, and actually do that in 3D a.k.a. Imax like 3D
That really immerses a client into the viewing.

See some of the articles written on my blog here

Would have been great to make it to the event on the 9th .. but i'm half way around the world ;)
all the best!

Candace, I agree. Used correctly, I think there are many real estate professionals who will benefit from the tools. For presenting YOU, there simply is nothing better.

But some of the downsides, can't be ignored. That video, for example, took me over 6 hours to edit. And I am not a novice. The upload sites gave me fits last night as well, so, in total, there were 14 hours in production. That time does not including the time it took to find and record the original material.

Not everyone is going to be willing to invest that kind of time.

There are those in the market saying "video is easy." It's simply not as easy as it looks. So that's part of the danger

Jeff- I watched the entire video and for me personally I see a lot of potential for using Podcasts and blogging videos in many ways that can help with ones real estate business. I have several ideas of doing so, I just need to sit down get all the equipment organized and do my research on putting a podcast together. From introducing yourself to out of state clients, to showing a new listing, to showing off areas of your market, the possibilities are endless. I don't see this working for everyone as we can see the tech part just turns many agents off. For me and my RE business it is definitely something I will be looking in too in the near future.

Carrie... I think you've nailed the dilemma square on the head. What is this about? Entertainment? Self Promotion? Selling Houses? Regardless, each needs to be driven toward a profit motive or what's the point?

Daniel Rothamel did a very interesting vblog on YouTube this morning... the reactions to the FOREM post are interesting. I felt it fit perfectly with the YouTube crowd, but Daniel's getting drilled a bit by the RE.net old guard, including Greg Swan. The diverse reactions are why this conversation is so necessary.

Hi Jeff, I have been considering this as a tool, and was looking at real estate on YouTube, I found myself more interested in the agents themselves than the property. The more glossy the video was, the more boring and I would click off of it right away. Everyone likes reality more these days. So I don't know if I agree with that one guy saying to hire someone to make your video. On the other hand our goal is to sell homes, not be entertainers. There is a fine line there, but it can be a great tool! I just wonder if it is better to be more "real" as a person in your videos and not come across as a cheesy salesperson. You did yours well. Thanks for the video, I learned alot!

You really shouldn't be able to rate your own videos, but since you can, I did. :)
